ABOUT DAN BALDA

I am a physician and engineer by training, an entrepreneur by luck, a pilot for fun and a dad by choice. I founded Advisory Board to Go (ABG) to help entrepreneurs realize their vision faster with fewer missteps. We form ad hoc and ongoing business advisory boards for privately held companies from 10 to 100 million in revenue in many different sectors. Ad hoc boards are designed to address a single problem and ongoing advisory boards come together periodically to drive results and increase enterprise value. For those companies not quite ready for a business advisory board, ABG coaches C-Level executives and their direct reports.I have had a successful career as an executive and operator. I went from stock boy to CEO in 15 years and subsequently served as Chairman at Medicomp, Inc, a medical services company. Memorable highlights of my career include: 20x organic revenue growth, securing angel funding to pivot from an equipment provider to a service company; strategic merger with United Therapeutics (NASDAQ: UTHR); acquiring Medicomp back from United Therapeutics and subsequent sale of Medicomp with a 17x return on capital. Along the way I redefined Medicomp’s vision and culture, secured contracts that led to our equipment monitoring the multinational crews of the Mir and International Space Stations and monitoring US soldiers abroad during foreign wars. I also, led the launch of many FDA approved medical products, authored multiple patents, created a global clinical trial presence with CABANA and many other trials and founded a novel start-up in the aviation collaborative consumption/ride sharing space. I earned my electrical engineering degree from Cornell University and my MD from the University of Florida. I have been honored with many industry awards and was an Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year finalist. I was Chairman of YPO Florida, YPO’s international Healthcare Business Network, and the Balda Family Foundation, which enabled 200+ college scholarships and grants in excess of $1 million for at risk youth in Brevard County Florida. I have coached and mentored 75+ executives and five cohorts of YNGers and Healthcare Transformers. I am also a fixed wing jet pilot and helicopter pilot living in Melbourne, Florida where I enjoy paddle boarding with my son and daughters.
