About Daniel Arista

Founding an organization to ensure the internet and AI evolves to preserve human agency. For the previous ten years I worked with military and industry leaders on ideation and strategy for solutions to ‘grand challenge’ problems. I have a track record of being a persistent researcher, holding my work to high standards of intellectual integrity. I have demonstrated the capacity to leverage the best from academic research from multiple disciplines towards ambitious but tractable project plans. My passion for applied research led me to undertake a doctoral program mid-career. The Cognitive Science program I attended was strictly focused on the computational modeling of cognition; involving the study of applied logic, psychology, and computer science. My dissertation doubled as a contribution to a real-world cognitive architecture project at the Applied AI Lab at the US Naval Research Laboratory. I recently spent nearly a year at AWS researching cloud architectures that would allow analytics and AI solutions to scale for top Financial Services and Pharmaceutical industry customers. Prior to this I spent ~10 years in various cyber security roles including IDS Analysis, Policy and Audit, and Cyber S&T Program Analysis. Overall I have been in the IT industry for over 20 years.
