We assist and vulnerable homeless veterans and their families get reintegrated into the workforce. In addition to providing direct employment services, we are responsible for providing service referrals for medical and mental health care, VA benefits, transportation assistance, housing support, legal services, and basic everyday needs. Team members conduct outreach to veterans, service providers and employers to develop the most comprehensive services possible.Duties: Managed a $300K Department of Labor grant and conducted quarterly reviews and Federal reports. Supervised and mentored the professional development of three human services professionals, provided case management services for homeless veterans in the Denver Metro area, and networked extensive community resources for services support and employment.* Developed key professional linkages between City, State, Federal, and Private organizations in order to provide seamless and rapid service delivery to homeless veterans.* Provided policy, practice and legislative expertise on homeless issues to Denver’s Road Home Commission to End Homelessness, the Governor’s Commission on Homelessness, the Colorado Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, US Senator Michael Bennet’s Colorado Veterans Forum, and Congressman Ed Perlmutter Veterans Advisory Committee.* Received Outstanding Member Award from National Coalition for Homeless Veterans* Presenter: National Coalition for Homeless Veterans Annual National Conference, Washington, DC (2012, 2013) National Alliance to End Homelessness Annual National Conference, Seattle, WA (2013) Women Veterans of Colorado Annual Conference (2012, 2013) Military Officers Association of America, Mile High Chapter (2014)
