ABOUT DANA MATHEWS
I’m a community-driven patient advocate with a strong foundation in women’s health, gynecologic oncology support, and public health outreach. With a background in business (BBA), over a year of hands-on cancer support experience at SHARE, and ongoing nonprofit board leadership with ECRFpeach.org, I specialize in guiding patients through some of the most complex and overwhelming moments of their cancer journey.My work includes facilitating support groups for newly diagnosed and in-treatment uterine cancer patients, providing one-on-one guidance through SHARE’s helpline, and serving on an as-needed basis contracted Uterine Cancer Patient Support Coordinator. Through these roles, I’ve helped patients understand their options, access resources, navigate care barriers, and feel supported during diagnosis, treatment, and survivorship. On the organizational side, I contribute strategic insight to endometrial cancer research efforts through my board position at ECRF. This role has strengthened my understanding of translational research, disparities in gynecologic oncology, and the importance of community-informed outreach.I’m currently expanding my public health skills through a Community Health Worker (CHW) certification, building on a strong foundation of real-world patient navigation, program coordination, and community engagement. My previous work experience includes over a decade in marketing, technology, business development, SaaS, and nonprofits.
