About Dana L. Chavis
I have worked for SECU, the largest credit union in North Carolina, since 2005. Working my way up from a teller position in a branch to my current in-house staff counsel position in our Legal Services department, I have learned the consumer financial services industry inside and out. I have an uncanny knack for research and my department relies on me as a resource. While working full time and attending the evening program at NCCU School of Law, I learned how to prioritize and increase my productivity while not sacrificing the quality of work. I am a volunteer member of the Dix Park Conservancy Intertribal Pow-wow committee. I also served from 2021 to 2024 as a member of the Tribal Constitution Reform Committee for the Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina. I enjoy all opportunities to serve my Tribe and my native people.
