About Dana K.

Whether it\'s in a Zoom conference, a classroom, or on a stage, I love connecting with people. My experiences as a Certified Interview Coach/Resume Writer (PARWCC), a teacher, an actor, a writer, and Lancaster City Poet Laureate have now converged. Helping clients and students find their voices and express themselves confidently is my passion. I hold a BA in English and an MA in Theater from Villanova University. My poetry chapbook, Mixtape Venus, was published by I. Giraffe Press in 2022. I work as an Interview Coach and Resume Writer with Red Pen Wench.My poetry and prose have been published by national and international literary journals including: Fledgling Rag, Drunk Monkeys, ONE ART, On the Seawall, Sledgehammer Lit, Hive, Streetcake, West Trestle Review, MacQueen’s Quinterly, Viewless Wings, The Champagne Room, Star 82 Review, Hive, SWWIM, Wild Roof Journal, Prometheus Dreaming, In Parentheses, The Ravens Perch, Prose Online, and Teaching Theatre. Oprelle Publications chose my poem \"Showing My Respects,\" a praise poem for Lucille Clifton and Maya Angelou, to be part of their Poetry Masters Anthology for 2023. My poem “Show Me, Earth, Your Day,\" was a finalist in 2023 at Sweet Lit. My play, WaterRise, was produced at the Gene Frankel Theatre in Greenwich Village. My book, Mixtape Venus, is published by I. Giraffe Press and was selected as a “Best Dressed” feature for The Wardrobe at Sundress Publications. I custom-design and teach writing and theatre experiences for groups of all ages with a focus on building community.
