About Dana Thorsness

I’ve spent most of my life working in people-centered businesses—building teams, creating great experiences, solving problems, and keeping things moving behind the scenes. I consider myself a trainer, a mentor, an organizer and a “let’s get it done” kind of girl. For 25 years, I grew up professionally within Marriott Corporation’s franchise division (Bob’s Big Boy, Coco’s Bakery, Allie’s, and Carrows). I started at 16 as a hostess and cashier in San Diego, and eventually became General Manager of one of the company’s franchises in Las Vegas. It was a long, rewarding journey—one built on showing up every day, learning by doing, and helping everyone around me grow along the way. When the franchise changed hands, I took everything I’d learned and brought it into new professional career chapters in tourism, healthcare, logistics, and retail—working everywhere from Alaska to Nevada. Every role added something new to my toolkit: leadership, empathy, adaptability, and a deep love for helping people feel seen and supported. I have recently stepped into the multifamily world as a Leasing Consultant and Activities Director with Cushman & Wakefield, and I absolutely love it. I was referred by the property manager where I live, connected with a Cushman & Wakefield recruiter in Phoenix, and was had the great fortune to join a strong, supportive team. I love the vibe, the culture and the opportunity. It’s a challenge—and a joy—and it feels like the perfect home base for this next chapter of my career. What’s always driven me is connection—between coworkers, between businesses and their customers or clients, and between people and purpose. I’m all about listening first, staying present in the moment, and bringing my best every day—for the team, for the company, for my residents, and for the community we serve.
