About Dana Munro
As a Baltimore Sun breaking news reporter I write about crime, government, transportation and weather in Baltimore City and the surrounding area. I also complete enterprise stories. Prior to that, in my role as a local government and features reporter in Annapolis, I covered city, county and state elections and wrote about Annapolis landmarks including The United States Naval Academy, National Security Agency, Chesapeake Bay and Maryland State House. In the summer of 2023 I wrote about unethical practices at Anne Arundel County Animal Care and Control. The top administrator parted ways with the organization the following year. At the start of 2023 I wrote about women and children being thrown out of the local domestic violence shelter with nowhere to go. In 2022 a colleague and I wrote about a series of Annapolis area residents getting stuck on hold with 911 amid life-threatening emergencies. Later that year the county proposed a brand new, more efficient 911 call center.
