ABOUT DANA SMITH DAMBROSIO

I am a human services professional with 11+ years of experience, progressing from a practicing behavior analyst to utilization management, care quality and medical policy. My passion lies in improving care quality by bridging the gap between payors and providers, optimizing processes, and driving better outcomes for individuals receiving Behavioral Health services. At RethinkFirst, I served as the Director of Clinical Development, driving clinical product innovation for medical necessity software. Throughout my career, I\'ve worked closely with payors and providers to develop solutions that enhance care quality, improve communication, and create sustainable service models.Within my role at WellSense, I collaborate with Medical Directors, Utilization Management and Clinical Affairs to develop and review the Plan’s behavioral health medical policies and clinical review criteria. I ensure policies and documents are based on scientific evidence and best practice while meeting state, federal and NCQA requirements. I am also the Chair of Payor Relations for the National Applied Behavior Analysis Service Quality Network (NASQN), where I collaborate with stakeholders to modernize reimbursement models and improve access to high-quality ABA services.Colleagues know me as a collaborative and solutions-focused leader dedicated to making high-quality behavioral healthcare more accessible, efficient and effective.
