Serves as the leader for the operations of perioperative services and oversees operations of the operating room including pre-admission testing, ambulatory surgery and post anesthesia care. • Ensures organizational efficiency and satisfaction targets are consistently met/exceeded across all practice sites. • Serves as the primary liaison with surgical leadership for planning, program development, enhancing operations and resolving operational challenges. • Works effectively with the Department Chairmen to assure that organizational goals and priorities are being addressed. • In collaboration with Anesthesia leadership, oversees anesthesia operations in the operating rooms and pre-admission testing to ensure safety goals are achieved and provider needs are met in a timely manner. • In collaboration with the Chief Quality Officer and Chief Patient Experience Officer, ensures organizational safety, quality and patient experience goals are achieved and that medical staff policies and procedures are consistently adhered to. • Ensure practice consistency across all perioperative services practice sites. • Collaborates with surgical leadership to ensure departmental volume objectives and clinical program growth priorities are achieved. Evaluates emergent and urgent add-on cases based on patient needs and available resources. Coordinates with surgical leadership and other physicians, as required, to facilitate reallocations of OR block time as required. • Acts as a change agent in the operating rooms, supported by surgical leadership. • Oversees the implementation of the operational improvements outlined in the perioperative services re-design engagement, including recommendations pertaining to communication, patient safety and quality, physician behaviors and pre-admission testing. • Assists in the resolution of medical staff conflicts in a manner consistent with organizational policies.
