ABOUT DAN SMITH
I am an experienced and adept customers services practitioner with a strong technical aptitude. I have an MA in Music with Distinction and a BA in Music Business. I produce my own music under the name \"obviouslydan\" and have had support from BBC Introducing, AcidStag, AI Loves Music, Camphor Laurel, FlyBoy among some smaller outlets. I am well versed in Ableton Live and mix and master all my own work. I am a multi-instrumentalist but mainly specialise in piano and guitar. I have marketed all my own releases and the success of them has been down to my own skills I have obtained thanks to my degrees and experience. Alongside this I have a real passion for visual art and photography which has been incorporated into my brand as an artist which includes, album artwork, marketing visuals, promo shots and filter design in Spark AR. Most of my working life I have been in customer faced roles from my hospitality experience ranging from working as a butler in an exclusive private members club in the Highlands of Scotland to waiting tables at a Brazilian barbeque restaurant in New Zealand. Which has instilled in me the importance of delivering the highest level of customer care, even in hectic, fast-paced environments. Furthermore working in retail at Next which was a Customer-facing sales position, with additional responsibilities including complaints, returns, working to target, cash handling and a large amount of stockroom and processing work. My primary focus was on creating a comfortable and relaxing experience for shoppers while remaining attentive and proactive towards their needs. I have worked for myself as part of an online vinyl sales business which has maintained an above 99% CSAT with over 200 reviews. Also working at multiple festivals in capacities from artist liaison to stage crew. I have worked with the SMIA as part of their SAY Award 2020 team in a predominately digital capacity meaning that I have become very adapt to administrative work and meeting targets within it.
