Conducts related research as necessary. • Reviews claims in process on a regular basis according to diary system and at other appropriate times. Takes action as necessary. • Makes recommendations to and participates with claims manager in developing and evaluating claims procedures. • Receives and directs processing of legal papers served upon Policyholders involving claims action. Also directs activities of outside legal counsel as required. • Assists in preparation for trial procedures. Attends pre-trial functions and trials as necessary. • Assists claims manager and may act on his/her behalf as necessary.
