Two of the chief responsibilities of a nonprofit board are to provide guidance to their CEO, and to assure that the organization is complying with legal and tax requirements. Additionally, the IRS requires that compensation for a nonprofit CEO be “reasonable”, or excise taxes may be imposed on the organization, the CEO and the board members who approved the “unreasonable” compensation. Unfortunately, board members often have neither experience in evaluating nonprofit CEOs nor in setting their compensation. NPCEOEvaluation will provide a sophisticated survey tool that will measure the board\'s satisfaction with the CEOs performance in the 6 basic areas of expertise required of a CEO. This tool will gauge the Board\'s confidence in its analysis, and will also get beyond the all-too-common phenomenon of superlative performance scores with little honest feedback of where the CEO could improve.NPCEOEvaluation will also conduct salary reviews to eliminate the risk of board members being responsible for setting the salary of a CEO at a level that the IRS deems as unreasonable.
