Dan joined White & Case in March 2025, having previously joined Travers Smith in 2001 where he became a partner in 2007. He established Travers Smith’s Technology Sector Group, a cross-departmental grouping of partners who are each very active within the technology sector. This group now operates in addition to the dedicated IP practice which has been led by Dan since 2007 and which is now well established as a standalone and distinct group of dedicated IT law specialists, with an increasing focus on software and data exploitation matters. Dan and his team regularly advised clients on data protection, cyber security and confidentiality issues. Many of these clients are household names in the technology, financial services, retail and leisure sectors. Key clients include Prudential, Zoopla, The Bank of England, eFront, Caffe Nero, Bose, Micro Focus and various global investment banks. Dan is recommended in both the Legal 500 and Chambers directories in which he has been described as \"tactically astute\" and \"a tough negotiator\".
