Dan is a Partner with McDermott + Bull’s Canadian practice. He works with public, family-owned, and private-equity-backed organizations on talent-related issues, including succession planning, executive search, selection, assessment, and post-placement coaching. Dan serves clients across a variety of sectors in Canada and the US with a special focus on healthcare, medical-technology, and consumer goods. Prior to joining McDermott + Bull, Dan was a Partner/Owner of Lock Search Group, a leading national sales, marketing, management, and operations search firm. Dan was instrumental in scaling the company from 2 offices to 8 across Canada while managing life science and consumer goods portfolios. Dan earned a BA in Economics and an Executive MBA from Simon Fraser University and is proud to have been awarded “Most Engaged Student” by his EMBA peers. He is also an International Coaching Federation (ICF) Certified Executive Coach (ACC) and has a Certificate in Organizational Coaching from the University of British Columbia. While Dan’s clients span North America, he has the privilege of calling the playground of North Vancouver home and, when not in the office, can be found climbing hills (on a mountain, gravel, or road bike) or exploring the backcountry with his wife of 20+ years, 2 children and their golden doodle, Taz.
