Manage operations, including strategic planning, customer service delivery, annual budgets and workplans, performance management, capital and technology projects, staff and community engagement, external relationships, and policy work- Partnered with Mayor/Council in the development, approval, and implementation of innovative legislative/policy initiatives related to public safety, business opportunities, neighborhood livability, environmental stewardship, improved regulatory frameworks, customer service, and greater access, engagement, and opportunities for all- Led partnerships with elected officials, residents, and businesses to redesign processes, operations, and laws to provide timely reviews, increased opportunities, and customer-centric service delivery- Led redesign of department’s processes/trainings to create effective strategic planning, business process improvements, and performance management. Initiated annual staff event, led performance scorecard work, and implemented a process improvement system that engages staff in improvement projects- Built inter and intra-departmental collaborations/coordination through expertise in effective stakeholder identification, meeting facilitation, communications, and project management- Implemented inclusive recruitment, hiring, and retention strategies to increase diversity. Department experienced doubling of the percentage of people of color- Leader in development/implementation of innovative technology plan. Provided field functionality for staff and online customer-centric services. Working on replacement of department’s software systems- Facilitated community engagement within daily operations and to support Mayor’s and Council’s decision making- Implemented efforts to better connect, provide resources, and work with entrepreneurs not within the traditional power and network structures.
