Terra Optima leverages the power of nature and modern technologies to close the loop on food waste and restore our rapidly degrading soils. • This means transforming organic wastes into high-value products to improve agriculture, tackling climate change and preventing soil erosion for our future generations. Canada wastes over half of all food grown. Our process involves the use of insects and micro-organisms to digest these food byproducts. We transform and return their nutrients and carbon back into the ground in the form of soil amendments and organic fertilizers. • As a lab, we are testing the most effective and productive means to process food wastes, sequester carbon, and improve food production. By doing so, we can ensure our food systems are sustainable and a net benefit to climate change and carbon emissions.
