ABOUT DAN HOARE

A leader and communicator working on ways through the nature & climate crisis. I lead Butterfly Conservation\'s conservation action across the UK, managing our four country teams and leading the implementation of our conservation strategy for nature recovery. We conserve and recover butterflies and moths and champion them for the benefit of nature and people. We develop and deliver landscape scale conservation projects to restore habitats so that butterflies, moths and other wildlife can thrive. We achieve this by improving habitat condition to rebuild populations, providing advice and support for landowners, partners and community volunteers, collaborating in monitoring, research and policy work, and promoting butterflies, moths and our environment to the public. Using butterfly and moth populations as indicators of the state of our environment, we show how biodiversity can be restored by collective action to make a better world. Our strategic goals are: 1) Halve the number of UK’s threatened species of butterflies and moths.2) Improve the condition of 100 of the UK’s most important landscapes for butterflies and moths3) Transform wild spaces in the UK for butterflies, moths and peopleI’m driven to create and support collaborative teams bringing solutions to the climate and nature crisis.
