   Director of the Texas Department of Transportation\'s (TxDOT) Aviation Division (AVN). The Division works closely with the Federal Aviation Administration and local stakeholders to support the 271 general aviation airports in the Texas Airport System Plan. as well as operating the state’s flight services organization. AVN develops and maintains a long-range statewide aviation facility plan and programs approximately $200 million million in federal and state assistance for airport development and routine maintenance annually at the state’s local reliever and general aviation airports. The Flight Services Section provides air passenger transport services for elected officials and state employees traveling for purposes of official state business, aircraft for utility functions such as airport inspection and aerial photography, and maintenance services for all state-owned aircraft. The Flight Services Section also manages the agency’s unmanned aircraft program, supporting drone operations, training, standardization, and procurement for all Districts and Divisions statewide.
