About Dan Carroll

Dan Carroll is a political operative with experience in a variety of roles throughout the political world. Currently, Dan works on AFSCME California’s political and legislative advocacy team to advance the legislative interests of AFSCME members. Most recently, Dan served as the Field Director for Nick Simmons, candidate for Connecticut’s 36th State Senate District. Dan led the development and execution of the campaign\'s field strategy and oversaw a field operation that made over phone calls and knocked over doors. Prior to joining the Nick Simmons campaign, Dan worked as a campaign fundraising consultant with Windfall Strategies, a fundraising consulting firm based out of Chicago, IL. In this role, he developed and implemented fundraising strategies for candidates at all levels of elections, from County Boards to U.S. Senate. Previously, Carroll worked as a Legislative Policy Analyst in the Government Affairs practice group at Venable LLP. In this role, he monitored the development of federal policy, provided detailed analysis of legislation, and gained insight into issues such as foreign affairs, energy, and national elections. Before his time at Venable, Carroll was a Policy Analyst at Ascentys ESG, where he analyzed the development of ESG policy internationally. Carroll also ran a city council campaign in Boston for Ms. Deeqo Jibril. He organized her schedule to accommodate her responsibilities as a full-time employee, single mother, and candidate. He also oversaw all social media for Ms. Jibril\'s campaign across three different platforms, developed and executed a fundraising strategy, and was responsible for communicating with the press. Carroll\'s prior experience as a paralegal intern allowed him to hone his research and organizational skills. He was responsible for evaluating the significance of documents turned over in discovery and for creating a portfolio of valuable exhibits including summaries of each one to be used by attorneys in court. At Boston College, Carroll was the Hollywood Eagles film production club president. After the club ceased operations due to COVID, Carroll revived the program and provided students with the resources and infrastructure they needed to write, shoot, and edit films.
