I am an experienced Electrical Engineer. I enjoy my work and I\'m never surprised to meet incredibly talented people in this industry. I feel lucky to be able to collaborate with others to be a part of a successful project; whether it involves providing necessary infrastructure to the world, a well-planned/engineered and orderly design, a beautiful space, or all of the above. I appreciate the opportunity to have a positive impact on communities and work with like minded colleagues. Work/life can get busy so I try to prioritize maintaining an integral/positive role in the lives of the people closest to me and my community. I enjoy activities with my family and friends, the outdoors, a little history, house projects, and following (mainly KSU/KC) sports when I have the time. The most difficult part of our job is to provide Clients with a superior end result that is streamlined, clear, and coordinated across all disciplines, team members, and documents.I spent the first 6 years of my career working primarily in the healthcare market providing electrical design and engineering for hospitals, MOBs, assisted living facilities, etc. I touched nearly every sector of the healthcare market but was also exposed to other types of facilities in year 5 and 6 such as banks, hotels, retail, maintenance facilities, laundromats, etc. I followed up that experience spending the next 3 years solely focused on the Data Center market, also gaining valuable experience/exposure to Commissioning building systems. The following decade has included additional work in the data center and healthcare markets, as well as adding experience in the K-12 education market, water/wastewater market, federal, and power systems analysis projects. I’ve provided and collaborated with others to provide electrical engineering and design for: electrical distribution - primarily low (commercial building) voltage and various “campus level” medium voltage distribution systems and have extensive knowledge of short-circuit/coordination/arc-flash analysis and grounding, lighting design (site and interior) and building electrical systems including building systems related to: communications, A/V, security and fire alarm, and controls. I am experienced with SKM Power Tools, Easy Power, Autocad, Office platform software, Specification software, BIM 360 and Revit.

   As a Senior Electrical Engineer at HDR my responsibilities include: Leading electrical design and coordinating work with the electrical design team on small to large electrical distribution projects from preliminary design through construction phase services; Meeting with clients, owners, operators, and governing agencies to determine electrical requirements; Perform electrical analysis and detailed design of power, lighting, and control systems for facilities; Develop site, power, and lighting plans, details, one-line diagrams, control schematics, schedules, and other associated documents; Design of low and medium voltage systems (2.4 - 13.2kV) switchgear, transformers, and motor controllers; Prepare electrical specifications; Perform electrical calculations and analysis of systems; Analyze appropriate system and construction sequences and provide appropriate design and specifications to meet project needs; Design and/or assist with design of PV systems; Perform field inspections of construction projects and assist with preparation of addenda, RFI responses, shop drawing reviews, and change orders; Manage workload and budget for electrical projects; Conduct QA/QC of calculations, design documents, and reports prepared by others for technical content, quality, and completion for electrical projects.
