I joined BRI as a trainee portfolio manager assisting the investment department with research and the management of client portfolios. After completing the necessary qualifications I started to engage in more of the research and strategic elements of managing stock market portfolios. This included direct equity research, open and closed ended fund research and structured products. Coupled with a strong grasp of macro and micro economics this enabled me to begin to shape portfolio strategic and tactical asset allocation. As my role evolved at BRI I began to take on marketing responsibilities and also began to deliver regular market update seminars to clients and professionals. After a period of time I took managerial responsibility for the portfolio management and research team and began reporting to the main board and sitting on the management board. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills coupled with a deep understanding of capital market has led to strong portfolio performance over various market conditions.
