   Damon Rubio is the founder and president of D’Place Entertainment. Since 1988 he has worked in various capacities for a number of regional theater chains. Starting as a ticket taker in 1988 with Mann theaters, Damon worked his way up in the industry, serving as a theater General Manager, District Manager, Director of Operations, and most recently a 15 year run as Executive Vice President Of Operations for UltraStar Cinemas, where he helped guide the company to a number of industry firsts. Over the past 28 years, Damon has gained a vast knowledge of the movie exhibition, bowling, and family entertainment business.Under Damon’s guidance, UltraStar Cinemas was a company on the forefront of technology and innovation. In 2001, he took charge of his company’s progressive foray into digital cinema and alternative content. In addition to his involvement in making UltraStar Cinemas the first all-digital chain in the United States, through Mr. Rubio’s efforts, UltraStar Cinemas was also the first commercial theater in the world to exhibit films in D-BOX motion technology. He has also worked with numerous other industry vendors and suppliers to bring other new concepts and technology to the exhibition industry. Over the years, Mr. Rubio has been involved in developing and building numerous new, state-of-the-art theater locations throughout California and Arizona. Most recently, Mr. Rubio headed up the development of UltraStar Cinemas first Multi-tainment Center located south of Phoenix, AZ. This square foot attraction includes a 12 screen theater, a 24 lane boutique bowling alley, two story laser tag arena, a casual gourmet sit down restaurant and an active lounge and night club for adults 21and over. As a result of the overwhelming positive response to this project, Damon’s passion for creating the best Movie Going Experience for his guests has grown to encompass creating the best overall entertainment experience.
