About Damodar Bachani
Over 45 years of professional experience in health sector in academics and health program management at the national level in India. With a background in Community Medicine, he has nearly 25 years of experience between between 1992 and 2017 in the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India in various National Health Programs including National Program for Control of Blindness, Integrated Disease Surveillance Program, National AIDS Control Program, National Program for Prevention & Control of Cancer, Diabetes, CVD and Stroke and National Program for Health Care of the Elderly, Programs on Prevention and Management of Trauma and Burns. He had significantly contributed in planning, strategic management, monitoring, human resource development and resource management of these programs. His work is documented in 140 publications in various national and international journals and large number of technical reports and guidelines. Post-retirement he has been engaged with USAID funded projects in multiple Asian Cities (Building Healthy Cities Project-October 2017 to September 2022) and Asia Resilient Cities Project (October 2022 onwards) as Deputy Project Director. He was the Regional Lead for Health Resilience at JSI for ARC Project.(ARC) from April 2024 to January 2025.
