About Damir Khismatullin
Dr. Khismatullin founded and leads the Cellular Biomechanics and Biotransport Laboratory at Tulane University. The laboratory conducts state-of-the-art, externally funded research in biomedical acoustics, bio-fluid mechanics, and biomechanics of circulating cells. This includes therapeutic ultrasound for treatment of cancer and neurological diseases, acoustic methods for blood coagulation monitoring, ultrasound contrast agents, hemodynamics, and adhesion/migration/deformation of blood cells and cancer cells in inflammation, cardiovascular disease, and cancer metastasis. The laboratory has extensive experience in using and developing in vivo, in vitro and in silico models and its research activities involve both preclinical and clinical work.
