ABOUT DAMION BANKHEAD

Damion Bankhead is a 33-year-old professional photographer and fitness coach based in Birmingham, AL. His wildlife and nature portrait photography has been featured in publications such as \"Amateur Photographer Magazine,\"\"Alabama The Beautiful Magazine,\"\"Mex Magazine,\"\"Uncover Magazine\" and more. His work has also been showcased at The Alabama Wildlife Center and in four international exhibitions. A VIP of the Alabama Audubon and Alabama State Parks Ambassador, Damion\'s photography reflects his passion for wildlife preservation, telling stories of nature\'s beauty and intricacies. Damion’s love for photography began during a hike in Vestavia Hills, where a chance capture of a Carolina Wren ignited his creative journey. With each photograph, he aims to convey the essence of the natural world, allowing viewers to experience its beauty through his lens. Before photography, Damion served in the Army, enlisting at 17 to escape the challenges of a tough home environment. During a deployment, he discovered his passion for fitness, which helped transform his life physically and mentally. After the Army, Damion worked in law enforcement before leaving in 2021 to focus on his mental health and launch his online fitness business, Be Your Own Boss Fitness. Since then, he has helped over 300 busy adults worldwide achieve sustainable health goals, focusing on healthy habits rather than restrictions. In fitness, Damion has coached clients to lose hundreds of pounds collectively and mentored other trainers. He’s also a formally sponsored and Nationally Qualified Men’s Physique athlete and has been featured on bodybuilding.com and other fitness platforms. Through both photography and fitness coaching, Damion’s mission is to inspire others to see the beauty in life’s smallest details, embrace adventure, chase their God-given purpose, and live healthier, more fulfilled lives.
