ABOUT DAMIEN MCCAUL

I am a Data Analyst in Private & Wealth Banking day to day, supporting the Operations Function. This involves interpreting key business data sets and assessing the criticality and quality of this data. I manage data on a daily basis however I also seek to support people, not as numbers but as individuals. As a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) champion at Barclays UK, I have been supporting and advancing the DEI agenda across various pillars, such as LGBTQ+, Gender, Accessibility, Multiculturalism, and Community Outreach, for over 12 years. I am a certified trainer and a digital driving licence holder, with skills in social networking, business relationship management, and team building. I host the Proud Podcast for Spectrum Scotland, where I share the lived experiences of colleagues and signpost the support available from different employee resource groups. I also chair Out In Edinburgh, the first networking group for LGBTI professionals and allies in the city. I am passionate about making workplaces as diverse and inclusive as possible, and empowering everyone to be their true selves at work. I am eager to use my experience and knowledge to move into a new challenging position in DEI that will really make a difference.
