ABOUT DAMIAN MOLE
As Founding CEO, Damian led the spin-out and licensing of a KMO inhibitor treatment for inflammation from the University of Edinburgh into Kynos Therapeutics Ltd, driven by his passion and determination to deliver innovative solutions to challenging and unmet medical needs. Kynos was acquired by Dr. Falk Pharma GmbH in October 2024 and Damian is working closely with Dr. Falk Pharma as an independent consultant to help take KMO inhibitors to the next level.Damian is jointly trained in the UK and USA in translational science and business leadership, and as a surgeon in liver and pancreas disease. Damian holds the Chair of Surgery at the University of Edinburgh and an MRC Senior Clinical Fellowship, links he retains as he believes that successful new medicines are built on the strongest science, clear line of sight to patients, and building world-class teams.Damian’s research is driven by a vision to produce innovative solutions to difficult problems and challenging diseases. His strategy is based on a critical questioning approach, disease mechanism evaluation and seeking out and building the best teams to discover and deliver these solutions.Damian is Principal Investigator in the Centre for Inflammation Research, University of Edinburgh. He is a graduate of the Health Foundation Leadership Training Program.
