ABOUT DAMIAN CROWLEY
As a Business Development Officer at Winnipeg Economic Development & Tourism, I support the growth and diversification of the local economy by attracting and retaining businesses, investors, and talent in the key sectors of agriculture, life sciences, and transportation. I leverage my strong interpersonal and communication skills to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, partners, and clients, and to present and promote EDW\'s value proposition and services. I have a passion for fostering innovation, entrepreneurship, and leadership in the Winnipeg community, as demonstrated by my previous roles as the Executive Director of Community of Big Hearts, a tech based social enterprise, and as the Communications, Marketing, and Development Lead at CanU Canada, a youth empowerment program that partners with the University of Manitoba. In these positions, I directed multiple start-up initiatives, secured grants and sponsorships, and increased the outreach and impact of the organizations. I also have a solid academic background in business and economic development, which gives me a holistic and interdisciplinary perspective on the opportunities and challenges facing the city and the region.
