ABOUT DALTON TAHY
Dalton is an aspiring physician-scientist who is pursuing his B.S. in Behavioral Neuroscience at Northeastern University. Through his work at the TBI Lab at Harvard Medical School, he pursues his research passion in post-traumatic developmental neuroscience, specifically, examining the neural mechanisms of behavior change and recovery in pediatric traumatic brain injury. Dalton works as a patient care associate at the Neuroscience Step-down Unit at Brigham and Women\'s hospital, where he cares for patients suffering from brain injuries, brain cancers, strokes, and uncontrolled seizures. He cares deeply for his patients and is passionate about developing solutions in healthcare to improve neurological recovery following brain injuries Outside of the lab, he serves his community as both an 911 EMT and a crisis counselor, where he focuses on caring for adolescent health as a result of abuse and interpersonal violence, directly taking on the systemic challenges that cause health disparities. His upbringing on a small farm in New York inspires his goal to provide accessible, empathetic, and equitable mental health treatment, and as the first member of his family to pursue a career in medicine, he is committed to paving the way to a future with accessible mental and neurological health care.
