About Dalton Griebel
My design journey began on the retail floor, where I witnessed firsthand how product design could spark emotion, build confidence, and create lasting connections. These early experiences in the sportswear industry shaped my belief that good design goes beyond aesthetics—it can truly enhance people’s lives.With a background in business administration and retail management, I took a leap of faith and pursued a BFA in Graphic Design. That foundation deepened my love for design thinking, storytelling, and user experience. But I still felt something was missing—until I discovered CMF design.In 2023, I honed my CMF skills at Pensole Lewis College, where I explored the emotional impact of materials, finishes, and color. That experience opened the door to my current role as the global CMF lead for Shark’s cordless vacuum category, where I now guide end-to-end design—from trend research and palette creation to global implementation—across teams in the U.S. and China.Today, I combine my passion for storytelling, materials, and user empathy to design products that not only look beautiful but bring joy, clarity, and purpose to people’s everyday lives.

I own CMF vision and execution end-to-end, shaping scalable, consumer-led color and material systems across high SKU volumes, rapid timelines, and global manufacturing. I’ve led CMF development for 10+ launched products with multiple colorways, working closely with engineering, industrial design, project management, product development, manufacturers, suppliers, marketing, and creative teams to deliver solutions that balance design integrity and cost efficiency.
