About Dale Skeen

Dr. Dale Skeen is a widely recognized industry visionary credited with inventing distributed Publish-Subscribe communication and with pioneering Stream Processing, CEP, and Business Process Management (\"BPM\"). He has been awarded more than a dozen patents in these technologies, and founded two companies. In 1994, Dr. Skeen co-founded Vitria with Dr. JoMei Chang, where he currently oversees the technology and strategic direction of the company. Prior to Vitria, Dr. Skeen co-founded Tibco, where he served as Chief Scientist. Dr. Skeen has more than 25 years experience in designing and implementing large-scale computing systems. Dr. Skeen is also a prolific author, having contributed to ten books and written numerous journal articles on distributed computing, database systems, and integration technology. He has held faculty positions at the University of California, Berkeley and at Cornell University.
