ABOUT DALE CAMERON
I can help your chemistry and molecular/drug design projects. Accelerating drug design projects by combining traditional medicinal chemistry methods with tools at the interface between theory and experiment, is my core strength. A mix of structural research skills (computational chemistry, and use of NMR, X-ray and Cryo-EM data) coupled closely with experimental data increase the chance of success in today\'s world of drug discovery and development. In our connected world, these interdisciplinary aspects can all be performed well in a “virtual” mode, thereby limiting infrastructure challenges while leveraging the broad skill sets needed to succeed. As a successful, hands-on leader with broad experience managing in-house and external CRO teams in a variety of environments including Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Databases, and Computational Chemistry, I can add measurable progress to your design projects, at any stage. I have successfully worked on many design projects including anti-infective projects such as HCV Protease (Ciluprevir & Faldaprevir), HCV Polymerase, HCMV protease, both HIV Protease and Polymerase, HPV E2, Broad spectrum Anti-microbial peptides, and Gram+ antibacterial lipopeptides (MX-2401). Most recently: successfully designed potent inhibitors of Human Granzyme B,(viDA Therapeutics) & nominated VTI-1002 as our lead compound for treatment of DLE (orphan indication). My Specialties: management of a multidisciplinary research/development teams, structure-based drug design, chemistry (medicinal, computational, etc.), drug/ligand design, virtual screening, proteases.
