22 years in corporate communications with Sentara Health, a high performance not-for-profit 12-hospital system focused on clinical quality and safety, the patient experience, and innovative change. Sentara includes a regional Level I trauma center, the Nightingale Regional Air Ambulance, an array of integrated services, a health plan and employees on a mission to improve health every day. My work includes media relations, crisis communication, reputation management, and proactive PR for strategic service lines. In April 2017, I completed the \'Advanced PIO\' course at FEMA\'s Center for Domestic Preparedness in Anniston, Alabama. I currently support our trauma program, behavioral health, organ transplantation, Nightingale Regional Air Ambulance, Home Care & Hospice, Supply Chain and workplace violence prevention. I also help our Community Engagement & Impact (CEI) team raise awareness of Sentara\'s considerable CEI activity through innovative community-based care models and direct philanthropy. Prior to Sentara, I worked in broadcast news at radio and television stations in Roanoke, Richmond and Norfolk.
