Responsible for leading all injection molding and metal stamping engineering activities. The success of the engineering team aids in making Gecom one of the top Tier 1 producers of automobile door latches. Duties Include-Securing tool/gage quotes -Setting program budgets -Reviews of part design feasibility and GD & T applications -Implement lean manufacturing into stamping and molding tooling by eliminating secondary production processes-Selecting and sourcing the tool/gage builds to tool shops based on budgets and program schedules -Attend meetings with customers as necessary to discuss program requirements -Create tool/gage build schedules to meet customer timelines -Create tool/gage tracking charts to meet customer requirements -Attend tool trials at tool shops in the US, Taiwan, Japan, and China to confirm in house readiness-Develop and maintain process quality documentation such as Process Flows, PFMEAs and Control Plans -Troubleshoot tooling and machinery to correct process issues -Coordinate all engineering trials in stamping, injection molding, tapping, and welding areas -Oversee the trials and inspections of current and new tooling in stamping and molding areas -Perform capability studies on customer critical dimensions -Participate in customer project activities associated with APQP -Complete simple design changes utilizing Solid Works Design Software -Provide support for direct report engineering team members
