Olive Baptist Church was founded in 1894 when twelve people from Canoe Baptist Church in Canoe, Alabama came to Pensacola and started the church. Our church was originally found as a wooden structure on the south side of Olive Road, but in 1949, moved to the opposite side of the street. Today, Olive has grown to an average of attendees. Despite its large size, our church still contains the spirit of a smaller church through our numerous Bible studies, small groups, and ministry opportunities. Experiencing God through worship is one of the most powerful moments in the life of a believer, whether it takes place in the privacy of your own home or with a larger group of believers in a corporate setting. Olive invites you to join us as we strive to create a worship experience that leads people to encounter the greatness and presence of their Creator. Our desire is to have a worship service that leaves you wanting more, inspires you to invite friends, and moves you to a deeper relationship with the Father. Olive Baptist Church is pastor led, deacon served, committee organized, and church approved. It is also part of the Southern Baptist Convention. All Southern Baptist churches are autonomous but choose to work together to train and send out workers to spread the Gospel on a local, state, national, and international level.
