About Dave Beckett

Staff Site Reliability Engineer with experience delivering operational excellence for complex, high-stakes infrastructure. Most recently at Google Cloud, I was a lead on operational readiness for Google Cloud Dedicated (GCD), a sovereign cloud independently operated by S3NS in France from planning through general availability in December 2025. This included designing staffing models for an 80+ person partner organization, driving cross-team resolution of operational tooling gaps across hundreds of services, building SLO systems for contractual governance, and maintaining hands-on on-call responsibilities throughout.Previously at Twitter, I managed some of the world\'s largest Hadoop clusters, led the data platform\'s cloud migration to GCP, and built automation to reduce operational toil across bare-metal fleet maintenance. This work developed my skills in capacity planning, distributed systems operations, and technical leadership across teams.I founded the Redland RDF Libraries Project and have over two decades of open source work on Resource Description Framework (RDF) and Semantic Web technologies such as SPARQL and Turtle (which I invented). Co-author of a W3C Recommendation with Sir Tim Berners-Lee.I\'m looking for Staff+ SRE or platform engineering roles focused on multi-year strategic problems, operational excellence, and technical leadership.
