About Don Gajewski

I joined Mission Health in July of 2015 where I practice as the only Musculoskeletal Oncologist in Western North Carolina. I specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of bone and soft tissue tumors in both adults and children. I also specialize in treating patients with metastatic lesions to bone, preserving the best quality of life for patients battling all types of cancer. I also have a passion for amputation surgery and treatment of patients living with limb loss. This comes from my time in the Army where I served as one of the military\'s amputation specialists. My final assignment was as Director of the Center for the Intrepid (CFI) at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, TX. The CFI is a multi-million dollar, state-of-the-art physical rehabilitation center at Brooke Army Medical Center that serves military personnel who have been catastrophically disabled in operations in Iraq and Afghanistan, and veterans severely injured in other operations and in the normal performance of their duty. The square foot Center was funded by donations from over Americans through the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund. Their generosity expresses the profound appreciation America has for its courageous servicemen and women who defend freedom.
