I am developing a novel method enabling to detect biotin modification in proteins. Strong affinity between biotin and the avidin hinders detection of biotin site. Thus, conventional method for biotin capture based on avidin is heavily dependent on referring. However, my method capitalizing on biotinylated peptide enrichment enables direct detection of biotin modification. More interestingly, my method can be further utilized for quantitative and chemical proteomics.
