   The Department of Labor (DOL) Veterans Employment and Training Service (VETS) program requires contractor services to support these transitioning Servicemen and women through its highly successful Transition Assistance Program (TAP) that is offered world-wide to conduct job assistance workshops, employment counseling, apprenticeship program placements and employer outreach.As a Lead Employment Navigator, I work to build a rapport with Transitioning Service Members and Spouses to analyze their expressed needs, suggest solutions, and action plans. I assist in providing job search guidance and career advice. I work to assure the transitioning service member (TSM) and Spouses understand and can access available resources. I assist with job matching of vacancy postings, with TSMs and Spouses skills and work requirements. I provide current labor market information, help to identify companies and industries in the specific areas of interest. As well work to capture skills and experience required in certain areas, while offering advice on how to apply for jobs. I share the extensive knowledge of the current labor market information. I also provide resume and cover letter advice to TSMs and Spouses. My support to TSMs and Spouses extend beyond their transition date out of the military, wherever their next adventure awaits through Partner connections with vetted Department of Labor Global organizations. These organizations assist the Veterans and their families with a variety of resources.I assist with training and mentoring other TAP career counselors as well as possess the sound organizational and positive leadership skills for site management support. All the while, providing administrative functions for the office. Additionally, I connect Transitioning Service Members to the American Job Center (AJC) in the area they are relocating to for them to have continuous of care after their seperation.
