Cloud Data & ML PlatformBuilt out a team of 6 to create and manage GC’s cloud data lake, based around Azure Databricks. The platform now supports hundreds of MAUs and dozens of applications, dashboards, and ML models. It holds ~2PB of data with >50 ELT pipelines and hierarchical security. Led the creation of secure, self-service interfaces for lake storage, permissions, and pipeline deployments. Data Ingestion & Management WebappsLet the redesign and relaunch of a webapp (React/FastAPI/PostGres/k8s) for the ingestion, validation, and processing of Excel-based GC client data (insurance portfolios). The product can handle user-defined custom data formats and is currently adding AI-based automatic data cleaning. Also rolled out several microapps (same stack) for security management or general utility.NLP System for ContractsWorked with data scientists to design, build and scale a system to analyze hundreds of thousands of pages of legal contracts. The system features bulk feature extraction and redline generation from amendments, and has led to >$10M in new business so far. The system includes several levels of prediction, from document metadata down to bullet points using ML techniques such as LLMs and NER, with human-labeled data for training. Engineering LeadershipProvided software engineering oversight to a department of ~25, including setting standards & best practices and holding regular design reviews.Ran an engineering guild and periodic hackathons to enhance team skills and morale.
