About Cyrus Mehta
Cyrus Mehta is a New York based immigration attorney with 30 years of experience in all aspects of US immigration law. He is the Founder and Managing Partner of Cyrus D. Mehta & Partners PLLC, a firm which represents corporations and individuals in complex and routine immigration matters. Cyrus is also an Adjunct Professor of Law at Brooklyn Law School where he teaches a course - Immigration and Work. Cyrus is consistently ranked in Chambers Global, Chambers USA (Star Individual), International Who\'s Who of Corporate Immigration Lawyers (ranked among the most highly regarded lawyers), Best Lawyers (ranked No. 1 in NYC in 2013 and 2020) and New York Super Lawyers. Cyrus is an active member of the American Immigration Lawyer\'s Association, where he currently serves as the Editor-in-Chief of the AILA Law Journal, and member of AILA\'s Rule of Law Task Force and is past Chair of AILA\'s Ethics Committee. Cyrus is a frequent speaker at AILA conferences and has also served on several other AILA national and AILA-NY Chapter committees over the years. These include AILA\'s Benefits Litigation Task Force, AILA\'s EB-5 Committee, AILA\'s FOIA Committee and and Pro Bono Committee (former Chair). Cyrus has also been the Program Chair of the Practising Law Institute\'s annual Basic Immigration Law and companion Asylum, Special Immigrant Juvenile Status, Crime Victim, and Other Immigration Relief program for several years. He also serves on the Board of Directors of Volunteers of Legal Services and the New York Immigration Coalition. He is former Chair of the Immigration and Nationality Law Committee of the New York City Bar and the former Chair of the Board of the American Immigration Council. Cyrus continues to serve as Special Counsel on immigration matters to the Departmental Disciplinary Committee, Appellate Division, 1st Dept, NY. In 2011, Cyrus won the 2011 AILA Michael Maggio Memorial Pro Bono Award for outstanding efforts in providing pro bono representation in the immigration field. In 2018, Cyrus won the prestigious 2018 AILA Edith Lowenstein Memorial Award for advancing the practice of immigration law. He has also received three AILA Presidential Commendations in 2010, 2016 and 2020.
