Coordinate purchasing plans and activities with other offices; revise sourcing as needed and work with Regional Purchasing Manager to achieve goals for incentive programs.• Oversee the training process of planners to ensure they can perform corrective system maintenance. Assist planners as needed.• Direct the processing of warehouse sales orders and inter branch transfers to adhere to corporate policy and regulatory requirements. Ensures that appropriate records are kept.• Direct and coordinate the processing of sales orders between sales unit, processing unit, warehouse and shipping; advise and inform them on matters of mutual concern.• Oversee variance processing from vendors and ensure adequate procedures are in place to minimize variances. Ensure necessary corrective action is taken as well as maintain adequate records are kept on variance processing.• Oversee maintenance of current price information; department and supplier product information; supplier contracts, servicing agreements, etc.• Oversee generation and distribution of aged reports and work with sales to minimize.• Build and maintain good supplier and customer relationships.• Prepare and submit reports as directed.• Require the MPU to participate in quality meetings and emphasize quality process within the MPU.• Represent the MPU as required in local management meetings.• Perform special tasks as directed by the Regional Purchasing Manager.• Oversee handling of cosigned inventory and outgoing reporting.• Work with Corporate Materials Planning regarding TSO/DRP2+(planning system) issues and ensure products are sourced correctly with the proper amount of lead-time.• Obtain new PRNs (product identification numbers) and ensure product identification numbers are entered correctly prior to corporate review.• Develop/review processes within planning to reduce service failures.• Coordinate inventory sourcing with Regional Purchasing Manager.
