As part of TikTok’s Ads Growth team, I focus on backend systems that support small and medium businesses (SMBs), building reliable and cost-efficient services to improve advertiser onboarding, enrichment, and engagement. I’ve led development of an LLM-powered enrichment platform that processes millions of URLs and advertiser profiles daily, returning industry and brand insights to streamline onboarding and improve targeting. To keep costs sustainable at scale, I migrated our inference pipeline from GPT-4o to an open-source model (Qwen), cutting LLM-related expenses by over 90% without sacrificing performance.Beyond AI integration, I’ve built scalable infrastructure using Go, MySQL, Redis, Elasticsearch, and message queues—prioritizing low latency, high throughput, and global consistency. I also created a real-time monitoring dashboard that surfaces key system metrics like LLM performance, MQ lag, and database throughput to improve visibility and responsiveness. Working closely with global teams across the U.S. and China, I’ve led stakeholder syncs and org-wide knowledge shares in both English and Mandarin, helping align priorities across technical and non-technical collaborators.
