WORK HISTORY
Manager, Data Analytics Consulting @EPAM Systems
US
I work with generative AI, machine learning, statistics, and humans to do neat things both for our clients and also internally within EPAM.• Neat thing sample 1: Co-led a small team to deliver organization-wide guidance for a Fortune 500 retail company as they embark in a massive AIML replatforming endeavor impacting hundreds of data pipelines. This included proof-of-concept modernizations of three of their ML pipelines onto the new platform, interviews across the full breadth of 40+ AIML teams, and prescriptive technical guidance mapping fragmented legacy tooling onto a modern Databricks stack. • Neat thing sample 2: AWS-hosted AI-powered trash collector for a Fortune 500 pharma company. She\'s beautiful, she can chew through a hundred thousand documents in a day, and I love her. More details to come.• Thing sample 3: I engage in quite a bit of presales work, but I have never been able to bring myself to refer to sales as a \"neat thing.\" It\'s a necessary thing, but whew.

ABOUT CYNTHIA OROURKE
I\'m a customer-focused data scientist, coming out of a background in behavioral ecology, evolution, and genetics. I like to think that I\'m a good builder, teammate, and friend, and that I usually manage to keep my eye on the larger goal and on my role in getting us there. I focus on machine learning and data science systems that deliver scalable impact. Problems I solve: • Framing the data side of business problems• Locating useful data and juicing signal out of it• Building data-based solutions that play well with engineering• Choosing optimization metrics that serve the customer experience• Fostering communication and collaboration across the greater organizationArtifacts of my work:• Reusable, modular software and GTM collateral• Deep trails of discoverable documentation• Rarely, and only as necessary, substantial updates to team process
