Leading full service (FSO) and functional service provider (FSP) medical writing teams based in NA, APAC, and EU. Provide scientific, operational and leadership expertise and be a key part of the functional leadership team. Oversight of medical writing team members in North America, including line management and staff development. Responsible for planning, implementing and adhering to the medical writing budget; monitoring revenue, costs, and utilization; providing regular updates to senior leaders. Manage capacity planning and utilization for the teams, set productivity goals and department expectations. Drive and promote organizational process improvements, including technology innovation, and create a culture of improvement. Participate in department and/or corporate planning, strategy, budget, profit/loss, and development activities. Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and customers, internal and external. Oversee medical writing programs and preferred provider relationships. Play a key role in business development; attend client meetings, write and review proposals and pricing deliverables, contribute to contracts and work orders, support implementation of new programs. Perform senior level reviews of medical writing deliverables. Own standard operating procedures and training for the department.
