About Cynthia Y. Luo
I am an entrepreneur at heart, driven by the belief that the world is a vast playground where following your passions and intuition leads you to where you\'re meant to be. My unconventional journey from competitive dance to AI research, and ultimately to entrepreneurship, has shaped my unique approach to building and scaling technology startups. As a FGLI student, I discovered my path through unexpected turns. From rebuilding my university\'s dance ecosystem and winning international dance competitions, to pivoting after an injury that led me to secure both the Hong Kong PhD Fellowship, KAUST Fellowship, and Erasmus Mundus Fellowship, each experience has contributed to my multifaceted perspective. My AI research career, enriched by collaborations with industry partners and a research fellowship at MIT Media Lab, opened my eyes to the world of tech entrepreneurship. This led me to found a startup addressing physical therapy needs—a problem I personally experienced as a former dancer. Through this venture, I discovered my natural talents in building meaningful connections and identifying market opportunities. Today, I combine my technical expertise in AI with business acumen to bridge the gap between innovative technologies and market-ready solutions. Based in San Francisco, I\'m committed to building impactful ventures that transform cutting-edge technology into practical solutions that make a difference.
