ABOUT CYNTHIA WADLE
EXPERIENCE One of five directors leading Colorado Consumer Health Initiative, an organization dedicated to advancing the consumer voice to improve access to health care by working for progress toward equity, access, affordability, and quality. In that time, we doubled the budget to $1.7 million and added a consumer assistance program and passed key legislation increasing health access. I was key in the implementation of a successful Consumer Assistance Program setting up systems, risk management, hiring and supervising the manager, an associate and four volunteers who assist consumers to navigate their health insurance and negotiate their medical bills resulting in saving clients as of 2023 of over $7.3 million for just over consumers in since the program’s inception June 2018. Implemented The Management Center techniques with our staff: updated the employment policies, and incorporated equitable hiring and increased staff satisfaction resulting in an increase of retention by 90%. Created a health and wellness environment including an annual wellness challenge. Managed and upgraded the information technology including servers, internet, desktops and Macbooks. Accounting and Finance and Operations Tasks include: Accurate development of annual budget including multiple restricted grants and revenue streams, timely reporting of month-end close, integration of Bill.com payables, negotiated vendor contracts reducing expenses by 40%, review and update internal control and organization policies. Managed fiscal sponsorships including Family Voices Colorado (FVCO) which has grown from a start up with no employees to a budget and 7 employees and assisted with management of the Colorado Health Policy Coalition. Managed the CCHI Board Audit and Finance Committee including presentation of monthly financial packets. For the monthly Board of Director meetings, created a higher-level financial presentation including specialized reports for Operating Reserve, Cash Flow Forecast, Grant Funding Reports and a Net Asset Roll. Other tasks included: timely and accurate bookkeeping, bank reconciliations, accrual accounting, grant budget reporting, grant reports, fixed assets and depreciation schedules and preparing for annual audit and 990 tax return preparation resulting in year after year unqualified opinions. Manage all aspects of Human Resources, Operations (Office and technology) and Fundraising including the supervision of a development coordinator.
