About Cyndi Stivers
Building upon a wide-ranging media career, I\'m now managing the Curation team at TED, the New York-based nonprofit media and conference business devoted to “ideas worth spreading.” Working at TED (after attending the conference since 1994) allows me to dedicate hard-won skills and a long-cultivated network to helping good things happen. It\'s truly gratifying to pluck a great group of speakers from hundreds of applicants, and get them to play nicely together as they polish their TED Talks. I also supervise the speaker experience and speaker community teams as they welcome new members to the global community, and work with TED\'s partnerships team to curate and host events that help pay for the whole thing. I feel so fortunate to have had the chance to report, write, edit, and manage media businesses on just about every platform, from the days of hot-type newspapers to the internet era. There is always something new to learn, and I pass along whatever I can.
