ABOUT CAMILA CUESTA ARCENTALES
Camila is an Ecuadorian (Kichwa, Andean-Indigenous) woman, raised in Chicago. She is passionate about technology and digital design as mediums for change, particularly interested in exploring vulnerabilities in cyber-physical systems, expanding the indigenous digital footprint, and improving upon environmental conservation efforts. She is a self-starter who highly enjoys collaborative projects. Camila started the Security and Privacy Club at UChicago, has conducted research in the departments of Computer Science, Astronomy & Astrophysics, and Ecology & Evolution at The University of Chicago. She is now a graduate student at Illinois Tech, engaging with CyberHawks for Capture-The-Flag challenges, EcoCAR CAV Team on LiDAR development for lane-keeping assist, and Society of Women in Space Exploration for community and academic development in Aerospace and Astrophysics. On her freetime, Camila enjoys messing around with Arduinos, 3D printing, optimizing care for her plants, rock climbing with friends, reading sci-fi, and loves discussing impactful projects!
